They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away, but can it cure you? If you have one of these common ailments, these natural remedies really work and most ingredients can be found at your local health food store.

Bloating Eat a small piece of fresh aloe (down the hatch!) daily to keep digestion clear.

B.O. Apply apple cider vinegar to a cotton pad and apply to armpit area to kill bacteria causing B.O. Try to leave overnight or at least a few hours.

Cold/Flu Zinc capsules are great if you’re sick or just fighting off germs. Take 1 capsule in the morning and 1 at night if you feel your immune system is low. Also drink 4-5 drops of oregano oil in a little water 3X a day.

Dandruff/Itchy Scalp Liberally apply coconut oil to scalp and sleep with a shower cap overnight – also doubles as a moisturizing hair mask. Repeat 1-2 times per week or until scalp is better.

Dehydration – Drink plenty of coconut water to rejuvenate and restore those electrolytes.

Earaches Mix 4-5 drops of tea tree oil with a bit of olive or coconut oil. Soak a small piece of a cotton pad in the mixture and insert into the ear overnight.

Mosquito Bites apply a drop or two of lavender or tea tree oil to bites to remove itch.

Nausea If you feel nauseous, bite into a lemon wedge and nausea should subside within a few minutes.

Sore throat Mix 4-5 drops of oregano oil in water, gargle and swallow. Repeat twice a day.

Sunburn Apply the gel from a fresh piece of aloe to sunburn until healed.

Sweating Sage is great for excessive perspiration. Use fresh or dried sage leaves and make a tea – or consider taking in capsule form daily.

Tanning oil – Coconut oil naturally has an SPF 10 so apply liberally for that tropical glow.

Yeast Infection – Mix 4-5 drops of tea tree oil in a little bit of water. Soak the tampon applicator in solution for about 30 seconds and insert overnight. Repeat for 3-5 nights or until infection is clear.
